One extended cruise around Australia was terminated in the wake of the fatal incident of an older lady who was left behind by the vessel on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the party for a rest. The liner sailed away leaving her and went back after some time after the personnel discovered the woman was unaccounted for.

A large-scale rescue mission discovered her body the subsequent day.

Officials are looking into the tragedy, alongside law enforcement and the state coroner.

Head of the shipping company announced that travelers and staff on the ship were notified that the continuation of the journey had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and previous engine troubles".
