I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
